If you read any of my previous posts, or are my darling youngest sister ;), you know how much I adorrrrre a sunset. There's something just so perfect about the way that the colors paint the sky and change so subtly yet so powerfully that just makes me speechless-- which is quite the feat.

When you take a picture of the sunset and it doesn't look as good in the photo as it does in real life, you don't think the problem is that the sky is ugly.. you know the camera just isn't fully capturing the beauty. The same should be true when we see a picture of ourselves. Now, this isn't an original idea of mine, but is one that I have held close to my heart ever since I heard it.

While I dream about tonight's sunset.. as it is only 10:20am here while I first drafted this up, I am also thinking about this bucket list I got as part of a Christmas gift from my darling mother! She found this bucket list on visitphoenix.com and I am determined to experience these best places during my few months here in Phoenix!

Some of these places have promises of food and booze which is riiiiight up my alley! I plan to keep updating this post as I collect sunsets at all of these locations, so check back periodically for my reviews and photos.

1. South Mountain

2. Papago Park! This was highlighted in one of my previous posts, but deserves it's second moment of fame here especially since it was our first true Phoenix sunset! Beautiful colors, excellent company, a little hiking.. allll the good things make this a definite 11/10 sunset!

3. Desert Botanical Garden.. now we had quite a full morning of brunching and boozing before this adventure, so we didn't quite enjoy the sunset in the garden, but we did get a nice view on our way home! The one thing I will say if you take a trip to the gardens, is to walk riiiiight on past the bar. We thought it would be nice to sip on a marg as we strolled through and perused the cacti, but oh were we so wrong, it was not a good marg. I was also wrong about telling Shel to sit on a ledge for a cute photo op.. cactus dust is NO JOKE. We did enjoy seeing the glass sculptures as part of Chihuly in the Desert! They were very pretty and caught the light of the setting sun very well.

4. Tempe Town Lake

5. From the Rooftop (of the Cambria Hotel Downtown Phoenix Convention Center)

6. Lustre Rooftop Bar (at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix)

7. Elements (a restaurant at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa)

8. Different Pointe of View (at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort)

Check back every so often to see what other sunsets I capture while out here in sunny Arizona :)
